Dr Christine van Schaik began her career in the medical field by completing her physiotherapy degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2003. She gained valuable experience as a physiotherapist in various locations, including Potchefstroom, Cape Town, and the UK, before deciding to study Medicine at Wits University. She graduated in 2013 and completed her internship and community service at Sebokeng Hospital. Thereafter, she worked as a ship's physician on luxury passenger ships, such as the Queen Mary II. In 2019, Christine returned to the Vaal Triangle and worked as a locum in private practice. From 2020 to 2022, she served as an Emergency Medical Officer during the Covid-19 pandemic at Sebokeng Hospital Casualties Department. She began her career in Private Practice at Cormed in April 2022.

Christine has a passion for medicine that encompasses all age groups and specialties, from emergency medicine to psychiatry. Her background in physiotherapy provides her with a unique perspective on conditions and ailments affecting the muscles and bones of the body. She has also completed additional courses in Sleep Apnoea, Geriatrics, Diabetes, and other areas of interest. In her free time, Christine enjoys reading, swimming, and spending time with her family and two dogs. She has a great fondness for animals and volunteers to assist her veterinarian friend with the annual Rabies Vaccination Drive. Her favourite holiday destination is the Garden Route. Christine's goal is to ensure that every patient who visits her leaves feeling better than when they arrived. She strives to achieve this by providing them with the necessary medication and advice to improve their health. If possible, she also tries to leave them with a smile or a giggle to brighten their day. Lastly, when asked for beverage preference, the response was: "During office hours always coffee"
